Ann Shepherd is the owner and operator of this site. This privacy statement describes what data is collected from the website during counselling, how it is used, and how it is safeguarded. Your right to privacy is of upmost important.

Ann Shepherd is registered with the Information Commissioner and all information provided is processed in accordance with the provisions of the 1998 Data Protection Act.

When contact is made via the web site

Emails sent directly from a website's contact form are not encrypted and may not be secure while in transit. Received emails and attachments are checked for malware or viruses.

Sharing of Information

Except in the event of a court subpoena, no third party will have access to your information without consent from you.

How I Store and Secure information

All information is a paper or an electronic file. When not in possession paper files are kept under lock and key.  No identifiable information is held electronically, and electronic systems are password protected and regularly scanned for intrusion and back up provided on the premises.  Files of any kind when not on my person are kept in a secure office.

The length of time personal data is kept

Your personal data is kept for no longer than is necessary. Clinical notes will be kept for six years for professional indemnity insurance purposes. Contact details and any other information will be kept whilst the work is in progress.

When no longer needed all data will be removed from electronic systems, and any paper files will be destroyed by shredding.

Your access to Information

You are legally entitled to a copy of the information held about you. Please contact by email if you have any questions about this privacy policy or information that is held about you.

Security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary. If there are changes to the privacy policy, changes will be posted on this page so that you are always aware of what information is collected and how it is used.
